Course overview

The MRC Development Squad, usually referred to as ‘Devsquad’, provides a pathway to newcomers not yet ready for the intensity of our main competition squads. The main goal of this group is to mentor potential new members and to assist them in transitioning into the ranks of regular MRC Members. Many come from Learn To Row programs and others come from rowing backgrounds at school or with other clubs.

We welcome all comers and aim to get participants on the water, and coached, at least twice each week. Sculling technique is our basic learning platform because it opens the door for rowing in single, double and quad sculls. Sweep rowing is also taught once basic sculling technique has been bedded down.
