The Development Squad at MRC provides beginner participants with the opportunity to develop their skills, and is especially geared towards those coming directly out of the Learn to Row program. The aim is to provide a casual learning environment where the focus is on improvement of skill and confidence in the boat.
Coaching is conducted in crews of 4 people, emphasising the importance of team work, commitment and the enjoyment that comes with it.
With confidence and skill improvement come fitness and (in most cases!) addiction to rowing. The Development Squad aims to provide a springboard for members to progress into the Mens and Womens Programs where the focus is more competitive.
